I initiated an Amazon return, and I’m going to select a different reader. ” And then the “send to device” button would show/hide based on if a device with the same name/UUID is mounted at the given location.īut that’s clearly not how it works (and maybe there’s a good reason for that).Įither way, it’s a moot point. It must manage files in a weird way - one would think that you could tell calibre “okay, my ereader is mounted at /location/here and it is model, please sync with that location and add files formatted to work with. I can’t figure out why calibre doesn’t see it. Well the interesting thing is I can mount it and browse the directories just fine. Perhaps it should end up being returned for the Pocketbook. I was torn between this device and the Pocketbook Inkpad 3 Pro. I'm new to non-kindle ereaders, and I chose this one because of its capabilities vs many of the other models out there. Is there something obvious I'm missing here? All input is appreciated. I've tried using Calibre both with and without mounting the storage on the Nova Pro (as I've read that in Linux only one application can use it at a time) as well as trying with and without the developer mode on the Nova Pro activated. I've also manually updated to the most recent version of Calibre, which is slightly ahead of the version in the Fedora repos. In case anyone is wondering, I'm running KDE Plasma on Fedora 31. I've been able to get books onto the Nova Pro via Calibre Companion, but I'd really prefer using the computer to manage the library instead of pulling books down from the computer on the device. And since then, I haven't even been able to get the device to show up in Calibre. Once, and only once, Calibre popped up a window identifying the device and asking if I wanted to use Calibre to manage it - I thought it would work after that, but I still couldn't send any books to the device.

I know there might be differences with the Nova Pro being an Android device, but I am not able to get the same functionality. Has anyone gotten this to work with Calibre via USB? With my Kindle (which this replaced in my slow progress toward distancing myself from Google and Amazon) I would plug it in, and Calibre would show which books were on the device, and which weren't, and moving them to the device was as simple as selecting the book and clicking on "send to device."
